Catch up time

It's been a while since I last posted a blog about what's been going on with us. I've been pretty busy. Basketball season (I am the JV coach) is almost over and I'm so thankful. It has been a little tiring going from Volleyball right into Basketball. I miss being able to pick Logan up after work, but that's all about to change in a month. I can't wait because then I'm taking Logan back to swimming lessons and I'm also thinking of doing "tippy-toes." Which is ballet for little ones. It should be adorable!!!

As most of you know Adam moved his gym to closer location to our home. Well, just recently they decided to shut down the street in front of his gym and do road construction. The time frame as to when this will all be finished is up in the air. We never know what plans the city may have for us. Luckily though it has currently not slowed business down for Adam too much...it just really interferes with the visibility of people driving by...now this is what Adam gets to look at each day.

Logan seems to change and change on a daily basis. Every day is a learning lesson for me as a mom. How to handle certain situations and then sometimes feeling like..."does anyone else's child do this." By no means are any of these things TERRIBLE, but I just keep wondering when is she going to learn things. For instance, when is she going to learn the enjoyment of "clean-up?" She has SOOOO much fun playing with her toys, but she is not at all interested in cleaning them up. She can handle picking one or two things up, but after that she is done and back to pulling more out. I've tried to get her to play in her room, but if Adam or I are not in there she is not interested and will bring whatever is in her room to the living room. So we are left with a living room that looks like this.

Does anyone else have this same problem? I've just recently packed up a few of her toys. It probably doesn't help that she seems to have SO MUCH STUFF!!!

Today Logan got her first "big girl" bed. YIKES!!! We are starting off with a mattress and although it may be a bit "unconventional," we are putting the mattress on the floor, so that she is low to the ground...in case she rolls off. This afternoon when she woke up from her nap, I brought the mattress into her room and set it all up. We got her Dora sheets because she loves Dora so much and I thought it would make the bed more inviting for her. She still has her crib in the bedroom and we will slowly begin the transition. Actually we slowly began the transition tonight. Instead of putting her in her crib tonight, I laid her in her bed. I turned the light off and walked out. We never heard a peep from her. About 30 minutes later Adam and I are sitting in the living room talking and I say to Adam, "Wow, I can't believe that she fell asleep her in bed that easily." Then I turn around and there she is, wide awake. I guess the difference between a crib and a bed is that she can get out of the bed NO PROBLEM!!! It was still pretty funny. Perfect timing on her part.

Here are a few pics of the bed and Adam and I testing it out with her.

And here is one of her just for fun!!

Do you like the pony tail on top?? We can finally do it....well when she lets us and doesn't pull it out. :)
